Money for cycling in transportation bill passed by Congress

Congress finally passed the $286.4 billion Transportation Equity Act on Friday. While most of the money is aimed at huge transportation projects, it also spends several billion for alternative methods of travel — namely biking and hiking.
One section will fund $370 million for recreational bike and hike trails over the next 5 years, in addition to more than 150 bike projects termed “high priority.”

OLN scores biggest audience ever with Tour de France

About 1.7 million viewers watched the Tour de France live finale on Sunday, marking the Outdoor Life Network's largest audience ever.

The daily live coverage drew a smaller viewership. An average 607,250 watched OLN's 23 days of live tour coverage, according to the Associated Press.

VisionTech aero bar recall

VisionTech USA is recalling 4 brands of its aero bars that can crack or break.
The Auburn, Washington, company is making the recall in cooperation with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission after receiving two reports of the centerpiece breaking, causing minor injuries.

Vinokourov hangs up on T-Mobile

The peloton's tire tracks were still fresh on the Champs Elysees as Alexandre Vinokourov announced he had taken a spot with the Liberty Seguros team.
