US cyclist Tom Danielson takes Tour de Georgia

In a bicycle race that American Lance Armstrong was expected to dominate, it was three other US riders who took the podium in the Tour de Georgia.

After Sunday's 125-mile stage, the Tour de Georgia podium was populated by three Americans, Tom Danielson (Discovery) who finished first overall, Levi Leipheimer (Gerolsteiner) second, and Floyd Landis (Phonak) third.

US cycling alive and well at Tour de Georgia

Those who fear US cycling is dead after Lance Armstrong announced his pending retirement should be checking the results in the Tour de Georgia.

Seven US riders in Tour de Georgia's top 10

Danish cyclist Brian Vandborg (CSC) won Friday's stage of the Tour de Georgia in a close finish in Dahlonega, according to the running commentary at CyclingNews.
Ranked 10th in the overall standings at the start of the day, he'll move up on Americans Floyd Landis, David Zabriskie, and Bobby Julich.

Floyd Landis wins Tour de Georgia time trial

American cyclist Floyd Landis won the Thursday time trial in the Tour de Georgia.
VeloNews reports Landis (Phonak) scored an upset victory, as he beat former teammate, and last year's winner, Lance Armstrong. In fact, Americans rounded out the top four places, as Landis was joined by David Zabriskie (CSC), second; Chris Baldwin (Navigators), third; and Bobby Julich (CSC), fourth. Lance Armstrong finishes #3 in Tour de Georgia

Just two days after announcing he'd retire after this year's Tour de France, Lance Armstrong appears to be getting back to his winning form.
Armstrong finished #3 behind Peter Wrolich of Gerolsteiner and Manuel Quinziato of Saunier Duval Prodir in Wednesday's stage of the Tour de Georgia.

Tour de Georgia results, finally
