Dan Sheret is preparing to leave on his around the world bicycle tour on June 1, 2007. Dan is an amputee who rides for raise funds and awareness for the abilities of persons who have lost a limb. The Pattersons -- WorldRiders2
Pat and Catherine Patterson take off on an around the world bicycle ride in 2002. Pat has turned 62 and Catherine has recovered from a heart attack. They travel across North America, Europe, Africa and South America, encountering accidents and bandits along the way. They also makes lots of new friends. Ditty Bops, Moon Over the Freeway tour
Amanda Barrett and Abby DeWald are the LA-based duo Ditty Bops. Known for riding around Los Angeles to concert gigs and other appointments on their bicyclies, the pair have taken off for a cross-country bicycle tour to promote their new CD, Moon Over the Freeway. They're playing concerts along the way; they also spend their time composing songs as they pedal and tallying road kill.

California cyclist warns about climate change through Americas
David Kroodsma, 26, is cycling from Palo Alto, California, to the tip of Argentina over the next 14 months or so to raise awareness about the effects of global warming on North and South America, specifically the tropical zones.

Cycling from north to south through the Americas
Jason Hill, 34, is cycling from Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, to Tierra del Fuego, Argentina. He expects the 19,000-mile trip will take him 2 years.

What inspires Don Boehly to keep pedaling?
The 49-year-old handyman from Grayson, Ky., is cycling through all 50 states to raise awareness for the families of the victims of 9/11.

Joe Bowen and Cliff Cantrell
Bicycle classroom begins cross-country tour
The school year started Friday for teacher Joe Bowen as the 62-year-old Kentuckian began his cross-country bicycle tour.
Bowen is recreating a 14,000-mile bicycle tour he took in 1967 from Lompoc, California, to his home in Eastern Kentucky. This time, in addition to the usual camping and bike-travel gear, he's carrying a laptop computer to teach an online class about America to about 1,000 kids back home.

Byron Linthicum Jr. is pedaling cross-country for two this summer. The 23-year-old cyclist from Richmond, Virginia, is the sole rider on a tandem for a fund-raiser in memory of his friend, Stephan Neller.

Men cycling across Asia seek equality for women
Jacob Richardson and Raphael Parker are cycling across Southeast Asia to raise awareness for women's rights. Why two men? They say it's because the abuse of women can't end until men play an active role in its solution.
