Tour de Sewer Bike Ride -- March 17, 2012 A 15, 30, or 67-mile fun ride around Bell Gardens. Curious about the name? Check the history. Presented by the Lions Club of Bell Gardens.

Solvang Century and Half-Century -- March 10, 2012 One of the nation's premier bicycle century rides, held annually since 1983. The century is actually 104 miles long with 5,000 feet of elevation gain. The bike ride is limited to 5,500 cyclists. Two "half centures" at 55 miles and 61 miles. Check for early registration deadline. Funds raised by the ride go to heart-related charities and other nonprofits. Sponsored by the SCOR Cardiac Cyclists Club.

Tour of Borrego -- March 17, 2012 Choose from either 22, 40, 62 & 80 mile paved road rides around the beautiful Borrego Springs Valley with mostly flat terrain. Newly erected metal sculptures of prehistoric animals line the route.

Soldier Ride -- March A fund-raiser for the Wounded Warrior Project, the bike ride also helps restore physical and emotion strength and gives the public to ride alongside men and women who have served. Leaves from Oceanside Transit Center.

Run to Camacho's Century -- March 24, 2012 This is a one-way ride from Santa Ysabel to El Centro. Lunch, mariachi entertainment and transportation back to the start is included in the fee. Presented by Ramona Fun Riders.

Spring Century -- March Starts from the Yorba Regional Park in Orange County. Rides are 40 and 64 miles. Sponsored by the Orange County Wheelmen. Registration opens Jan. 1.

Tour of Unknown Valley -- March 27, 2012 Combines the former Tour of the Unknown Valley North and South into one ride in 2011. A 72-mile loop from Orland to Willows on flat country roads then to Elk Creek (watch for a three-mile climb). Continues to Chrome, Burrows Gap and Newville before rolling back Black Butte Lake to Orland for dinner at Glen County Fairgrounds. Chico Velo Cycling Club.

Cinderella Classic -- March 31, 2012 This 65-mile bike tour around Amador, Livermore and Diablo valleys touts itself as the only ride for women and girls. Sponsored by Valley Spokesmen of Dublin. Fills up early. Check website for training rides
