Seattle World Naked Bike Ride -- July 11, 2009 The ride that draws attention to oil dependency and the car culture (as well as the cyclists' naked bodies) meets at Louisa Boren Park for body painting and bike decorating. Ever-updated details online Seattle to Spokane -- July 10, 2010 This one-day ultra-endurance ride is similar to the Cannonball (see June calendar), but follows the more difficult route along US Highway 2. 284 miles. Presented by Redmond Cycling Club. Spokane Summer Parkways -- July 11, 2010 Howard Street from Riverfront Park to Corbin Park will be closed to all motor-vehicle traffic for Spokane's version of Ciclovia. The Lost Cyclist Book Tour -- July 20, 2010 David Herlihy, author of The Bicycle and the Lost Cyclist, will appear at the Seattle Public Library at 7 p.m. for a meet, greet and signing. Cyclefest -- July 22, 2010 As always, the Cyclefest Outdoor Cinema at Warren Magnuson Park in Seattle features the best stage of the Tour de France shown on the silver screen. Festivities start at 5 p.m. with bike polo. Plenty of food and beer. Sponsored by Cascade Bicycle Club. Loreen Miller Bicycle Ride -- See June calednar... Three rides -- 12, 50 and 100 -- raise funds for the Cancer Patient Care services in Spokane. Tour de Kitsap -- July 25, 2010 Scenic loops of 12, 30, 65 and 100 miles around Kitsap County; leaves from Silverdale; sponsored by West Sound Cycling Club. (Single Track Saturday begins in Port Gamble on Saturday) Registration at active.com. RAMROD -- July 29, 2010 Ride Around Mt. Rainier in one day; 154 miles, 10,000 feet of elevation gain; registration for lottery March 1 - 31, 2010; announcement April 12. Check website in mid-February for more information Tour de Whatcom -- July 31, 2010 Three mileage options for this bike ride -- 25, 50 and 105 miles. Starts in Bellingham and tours rivers and lakes while in sight of snow-capped Mount Baker. Fund-raiser for Boys and Girls Clubs of Whatcom County. Seattle Century -- July 31, 2010 Returning for its second year in 2009, the Seattle Century offers 25, 50 and 100-mile options. Check back at Seattle Century website for course details.
