View Article  Cycling oversight group to look at doping allegations

(Updated)I'm not so sure there's much use in the Union Cycliste Internationale investigating the EPO doping claims issued by L'Equipe last week.

Without naming Lance Armstrong specifically, the UCI said Monday that it's "pursuing its global assessment of the situation."

I suppose it's comforting that cycling's governing body will study the claims, but what kind of results can it reach? The ...   more »

View Article  How to follow the Vuelta a Espana bicycle race

The last of the Grand Tour bicycle races begins Saturday, but don't bother to tune in to the Outdoor Life Network to watch it.
Those good feelings from the run-up to the Tour de France with Cyclysm Sundays and cradle to grave coverage of the Tour itself are gone. There's no more Lance Armstrong racing on his bike, and there's no more cycling on OLN.
There are still ways to watch the Vuelta a Espana, however ...   more »

They say where there's smoke there's fire. But sometimes the smoke isn't smoke at all, but fumes. And fumes can come from a completely different source.

So we should probably consider the source of these latest doping allegations against Lance Armstrong.

L'Equipe, the French sporting newspaper, is at it again. In Tuesday's editions, L'Equipe alleges Armstrong took the performance-enhancing drug EPO ...   more »
