Chesapeake Bay Bicycle Tour is either a 6-day bike tour that covers the Eastern Shore of Maryland and one-night lodging in Lewes, Delaware. Four tours offered through a private company, Carolina Tailwinds, in May, September and October.
Florida Keys Winter Escape — The self-contained bike tour starts in Fort Lauderdale and rolls down the coast to Key West, where bicyclists pick up a ferry to Fort Myers and follow a route across the state to the start. Presented by nonprofit Adventure Cycling Association, the tour covers 381 miles. Dates: Florida Keys I – Jan. 17-27, 2015; Florida Keys II – Jan. 31 – Feb. 10, 2015; Florida Keys III – Nov. 7-17, 2015.
Bike Florida – 2015 — The “Caverns to Coast Tour” spends two nights in Blountstown, Marianna, and Port Ste. Joe in northwestern Florida. Total distance of 151 to 520 miles, depending on route options. Dates: March 20-27, 2015.
Horse Country and Springs Tour — A luxury bike ride through the Paynes Prairie Preserve, the Alachua Sinks, and horse country around Micanopy, a visit to the historic home of Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings (author of The Yearling), and a pedal and paddle tour of High Springs. Hotel and restaurant meals included in price. Presented by Bike Florida. Dates: April 19-24, 2015.
Florida Bicycle Safari — Celebrating its 35th anniversary, the tour offers six days of bicycle riding in North Florida and South Georgia. First 3 days at Suwannee Country Fairgrounds in Live Oak; then Cherry Lake Campground north of Madison. Sponsored by Florida Freewheelers bike club and based in the Live Oak area. Limited to 250 cyclists. Dates: April 11-16, 2015.
STIHL Tour de Trees — The benefit ride for the Tree Research and Education Endowment Fund visits Florida in 2015. The 500-mile ride starts in Orlando and ends in Ft. Lauderdale with overnights in Ruskin, Sarasota, Punta Gorda, Ft. Myers Beach, Everglades City and Miami. Dates: Oct. 25-31-, 2015.
Florida Keys Bike Ride — This winter tour explores Key Largo, Marathon and Key West for six days of bicycling. Begins and ends in Key Largo with two layover days in Key West, covering about 200 miles. Presented by Pedal Across Wisconsin. Dates: Dec. 7-12, 2015.
