Get Your Guts in Gear is a fund-raiser to raise awareness for Crohn’s Disease. One-day options of 10 to 100 miles are available along the Hudson River. Dates: June 2016

Cycling the Erie Canal takes bicycle riders from Buffalo to Albany along the historic and scenic Erie Canal. The 8-day tour covers about 400 miles, about half on bike trail and the rest on low-traffic roads. (Registration opens in Jan. 3, 2017) Dates: July 9-16, 2017.

 Bon Ton Roulet hosts a bicycle tour of the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. The loop tour starts and ends in Cortland with overnights in Auburn, Geneva, Keuka, Ithaca. Route options of 45 to 75 miles a day. Dates: July 22-29, 2017.

Five Hundred Miles Across New York (also known as the Great Big FANY Ride) benefits the Double H Ranch, a camp in the Adirondacks for critically ill children. Check website for route. Dates: July 23-29, 2017.

Empire State Ride rolls out from New York City to Niagara Falls with overnights in Stony Point, Red Hook, Albany, Utica, Syracuse, Rochester. About 35 to 50 miles a day. Fully supported. A fund-raiser for the Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Dates: July 30 – Aug. 5, 2017

Cycle Adirondacks is a bike tour that winds in and out of the forested Adirondacks Park. Presented by the Wildlife Conservation Society, the 500-mile ride begins and ends in Saranac Lake. Shortened 3- and 4-day trips are also possible. Many amenities, includes three gourmet meals a day. Dates: Aug. 19-25, 2017. 

Great Hudson Valley Pedal follows the Hudson from Albany to New York City. The 6-day tour covers about 200 miles. Dates: July 9-16, 2017. (Read more at “Albany to Manhattan bicycle tour set for August.”)

    I did the Empire State Ride and it was the most amazing experience of my life. The people were incredible and it was such a well run event. The ferry into downtown Manhattan on day one and ending at Niagara Falls.

    I’ve never ridden with a better group of people in my entire life.
