Counterfeiting LiveStrong bracelets

If you see someone wearing a “LIVESTRONG” bracelet in a color other than yellow, it ain't the real thing.

Counterfeit copies of the bracelet are being sold in various colors, such as blue, pink, and purple, reports The Virginian-Pilot. The owner of several A Dollar stores in Hampton Roads, Virginia, said he bought his supply from a vendor in New York.

A spokesman for the Lance Armstrong Foundation said it's not only illegal, but unethical, to sell the knockoff bracelets. A columnist for the Arizona State University student newspaper suggests anyone buying and wearing an imposter bracelet should get an ass-kicking.

The real deal, which raises funds for cancer research and survivors, is still available through the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
