Armstrong survives “showergate”; reveals ID of Juan Pelota

The French anti-doping agency says it won't open a case against Lance Armstrong for leaving a doping control officer outside his house in France while he took a shower back in March.

The agency's decision means Armstrong is free to race for an unprecedented eighth win at the 2009 Tour de France, which begins July 4.

Armstrong is currently recovering from a collarbone break he suffered in a bicycle race in Spain back on March 23rd. He's training for the 2009 Giro d'Italia, a three-week bike race around Italy in which he has never participated…

Sisters take over Colorado bicycle tour company


The Price family

Hand-me-down bicycles are fairly common among family members.

But Monica Price, 30, and Maria Elena Price, 27, are running an international bicycle tour company passed down from their parents.

The company is Fort Collins, Colorado-based ExperiencePlus!, which has been offering bicycle tours primarily in the Americas, Europe and Australia for some 30 years.

The outfit was founded by Rick Price and Paola Malpezzi Price back in the '70s. As their daughters grew up, they participated in the tours and helped run the business. …

National Bike Month is coming up in May, and you might be trying to convince some coworkers to join your bike commuting efforts for Bike-to-Work Week May 11-15.

The League of American Bicyclists refutes 10 common arguments for not commuting to work by bicycle in its manual for bike-to-work organizers. I've reprinted them below.

Also, “On Men” blogger Adam Voiland at US News & World Report reports the six most common excuses he hears for not commuting by bicycle, from “it's too dangerous” to “it will make me impotent.” A longtime bike commuter, he shoots them down one at a time.

Jonesing to save the planet on Earth Day with bicycle power

Volunteers and staff are cranking the pedals on these bicycles to power up the Jones Soda headquarters building in Seattle on Earth Day.

The building is off the electric grid on Wednesday with only bare essentials running, such as some phones, lights and computers.

With the help of the Applied Science students at the UW, Recycled Cycles bike store and plans from Pedal Power Generator, Jones set up 10 bikes fitted with generators to run the offices.

I wonder if Danny MacAskill as a youngster used to ride his bike in front of his house and shout to startled observers, “Hey look, no hands.”

Imagine the reaction now when people walking down the street in Edinburgh, Scotland, see him do a backflip off a tree on his bike or bounce off the wall of a building like Spiderman.

Now the world is viewing his amazing feats on this video posted on YouTube.com on Sunday. By Wednesday morning, the clip had been viewed 780,000 times. It's less than 6 minutes long, and just gets crazier as it goes on.
