The organizers of RAGBRAI (Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa) revealed the official logo of the 2014 across-state bike ride last week.

It serves to remind us that it’s already time to start making sure that next year’s vacation schedules match up with our favorite big rides.
The nation’s oldest annual across-state bike tour chooses a new logo every year that represents a common feature of the state. Last year it was a pig.
This year’s logo was created by Suzanne Milosevich in the RAGBRAI marketing department. I particularly like the bicycle chain links that represent golden kernals.
The 2014 RAGBRAI will hit the road between July 20 and July 26 for more than 10,000 participants.
Registration for the lottery opens Nov. 5, and host cities will be announced on Jan. 25.
