The carbon fiber forks can crack or break above the brake mounts. No crashes or injuries have been reported.

BMC and the Consumer Product Safety Commission urges owners to stop using the bicycles and to contact a local BMC dealer to get a free replacement fork.  Contact BMC at (800) 819-4262 from 9 to 5 ET. Also check online at www.bmc-racing.com/ and look for the recall page link.

The faulty forks were made in Taiwan and carry the model number ACC-A704DN50B. BMC dealers sold the Alpenchallenge, Masschallenge and Urbanchallenge bikes with the Aprebic forks from December 2011 through June 2013.
