The importer and the Consumer Product Safety Commission reports five cases of broken hubs. Consumers are urged to stop riding the bikes and to return them to the dealer for a free replacement of front and rear wheels.

The recall includes all 2014 GT Fury Expert and 2014 GT Fury Team downhill mountain bicycles. They have front and rear disc brakes and front and rear suspension.

The bikes, manufactured in Taiwan, were sold at authorized dealers from February through June this year for between $4,300 and $6,000. The US recall amounts to 120 bikes; a recall in Canada covers 32 bikes.
