Lance Armstrong: To ride in Portland Sept. 23-25 weekend

This year marks Lance Armstrong's last Tour de France, but that doesn't mean he'll stop riding the bike, especially at fund-raisers for cancer research and awareness.

Armstrong is coming to the Pacific Northwest for the LiveStrong Ride Portland 2005 at Nike's world headquarters in Beaverton, Sept. 23 – 25.

Pedalpalooza in Portland

I never considered bicycling “clothing optional,” but I'd never heard of Portland's Pedalpalooza, either.

Starting next Thursday (June 9), the two-and-a-half week Pedalpalooza bicycle festival sponsors about 100 rides and cycling activities in and around Portland, Oregon, and Vancouver, Washington. Many of the rides are family oriented, although some are strictly for adults only.

Bicycle “Ride for Silence” mourns fallen riders Wednesday night

Bicycle riders in northwest cities will join those across the US tonight for a Ride for Silence, mourning those killed or injured in accidents with motor vehicles.
I've been hearing about this year's Bike Month and Bike to Work Day for weeks. A story in this morning's Detroit Free Press was the first I've read about the Ride for Silence.

Bicycles-only on lakeside drive in Seattle

It's OK to ride your bicycle out in the middle of the road when it's Bicycle Saturdays or Sundays on Lake Washington Boulevard in Seattle.

Downtown bike lane in Vancouver, BC

Cyclists could be riding on new bike lanes into downtown Vancouver by this fall.
