tour de troit is a fun ride in Detroit, Michigan. It takes place late September.

  3. Love this site…very comprehensive and well written. I’d like to add another charity ride:

The Edible Pedal 100™ is a recreational yet challenging century bike ride that showcases Northern Nevada and features outstanding locally sourced food at the rest stops and post-ride barbecue. There is something for every rider. Families with young children and cyclists seeking a taste of an organized ride will relish the leisurely 10-mile route through picturesque Washoe Valley. Those interested in a respectable ride will like the 50-mile loop, which includes a trek along bucolic country drives and through rustic towns. Serious roadies ready for a solid challenge will be thrilled with the 100-mile ride, which features a lung-searing, thigh-burning, climb up Kingsbury Grade from Carson Valley to Lake Tahoe.
Participants will savor mouthwatering local food and drink sourced by partner edible Reno-Tahoe magazine, which celebrates and supports the local food community. Local farmers, ranchers, vintners, brewers, bakers and other food artisans will contribute to the event.

The objective of the Edible Pedal 100 is to raise funds to benefit the youth, seniors and disadvantaged of Northern Nevada and the world community. Last year Reno Sunrise Rotary helped support Urban Roots Garden Classrooms, Rotary Youth Exchange, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, local high school culinary scholarships, local high school speech and music contests, 4-H, Reno High School Urban Garden, Washoe HAM radio operators, local trail advocates, WCSD Middle School Leadership Program, Senior Flu Shot Day and numerous projects at Virginia Palmer Elementary School.

The AV200 is a challenging – and fun! – two-day, 200-mile ride that raises money to stop HIV/AIDS. The Ride takes place in May and attracts more than 150 cyclists and an army of volunteers. It is fully supported with SAG (support and gear) teams as well as refueling pit stops every 15 or so miles. Riders can complete as much or as little of the Ride as they wish, either as individuals or part of relay teams.
