Across State Bicycle Tours (K-L) Dates for 2008 in bold
Kansas Border Raiders is an eight-day, four-state bicycle ride through the Missouri Valley to visit sites involved in the historic Border Wars that pre-date the Civil War. The 500-mile loop begins in Lawrence, Kansas, and cycles through Iowa, Nebraska and Missouri. Baggage sagged. Tentative dates: June 21 - June 28, 2008. Sponsored by Hog Back Ridge Bicycle Touring. Biking Across Kansas started in Tribune and crossed the state to Elwood in 2007. Dates, but no route set yet for 2008. Dates: June 7-14, 2008 Kentucky GABRAKY (Grand Autumn Bicycle Ride Across Kentucky) is a 225-mile north-south cross-state bike tour from Carrollton on the Ohio River to Dale Hollow Lake on the Tennessee state line. This is a fund-raiser to support the arts and reopen the Grand Theater in Frankfort. Dates: September 28-30, 2008 Louisiana Cycle Zydeco is the annual Cajun-Creole Food and Cycling Festival. The bicycle ride covers 200 miles in 4 days and visits towns in the Bayou country of Louisiana. Good food and live Cajun and zydeco music nightly. Dates: March 27-30, 2008.
