SkidStrong fixie benefits bike messengers

Cycles Gaansari has created a new bicycle brand that helps raise money for bike messengers who've been injured on the job.
A portion of the proceeds from the sales of bikes and gear with the company's SkidStrong brand goes to the nonprofit Bicycle Messenger Emergency Fund.

North Korea shifts into bicycle production

Forget the nuclear arms race. North Korea is entering the bicycle-making race.
Reuters reports that North Korea has built its first bicycle factory where it plans to produce 300,000 bicycles a year. Some 7 million bicycles are needed in the country, which is short on energy resources.

Yakima begins recall of trunk-mounted bike racks

Yakima Products is recalling its trunk-mounted Mighty Joe 2 and Mighty Joe 3 bicycle racks.
The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration announced the recall, which could affect more than 16,000 units.
